Over ten years ago, Lillis told her dad, Trés, that she wanted to put his imagery on clothing because she wanted to wear his monks, hummingbirds, lovers, and animals. She knew others would feel the same way. And now, she's created the first volume of Tré Lilli paper dolls! Each package contains three 8.5 x 5.5 postcards that you can either keep for yourself or send to loved ones! Only one full doll per package. Volume 1 is a limited edition of 150 sets and once it is sold out, it will not be re-printed. Volume 2 will be available in March, 2022.

Tré Lilli is a father-daughter collaboration between artist Trés Taylor and designer Lillis Taylor. Lillis sews clothes, home furnishings and accessories from textiles she has designed using imagery from her father's art.
In 1989 Lillis lived with her father Trés Taylor in Aomori, Japan for a year and during this time, they turned their dining room into a painting studio. Trés encouraged Lillis to draw, paint and write. The two often painted together while singing along to the Beatles, Lyle Lovett and Aretha Franklin. The creative bond between them is so strong that they work together today, still listening to the Beatles while they work. Tré Lilli is the company Lillis started in 2010. She takes images from a database of her father’s paintings and manipulates them using Photoshop. She lays the artwork out in files that are used to digitally print her fabric. Once the fabric is printed, Lillis cuts and sews her creations. The initial inspiration for any given article of clothing or wearable object is derived from her father’s art. Yet Lillis also draws inspiration from an assortment of visual ephemera collected from her travels: the colorful garb of native mountain peoples in Southern China, 60 ft paper floats painted and illuminated for festivals in Northern Japan, the sun setting on a salmon-colored tower in a Tuscan vineyard, Mountain Laurel growing in the shade of a river canyon in rural Alabama. These ingredients are combined to create clothing that offers the wearer a chance to live in a world peopled by muses, monks and lovers.
